1st Birthday
Today is my Shapeways Shops 1st Birthday! Over the last year my shop has continued to surprise me to the point of being more than I thought it could be. If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be closing in on $10,000 in sales, I would have laughed. It’s really been quite baffling.
In that time I’ve sold over 600 items, I thought I’d sell..like maybe 10….
So now for this year I’ll try and have some new items up every now and then (hopefully monthly) for you to all have a look at.

blows my mind to think I accounted for almost $9,500 of that $270,000….absolutely beyond anything I could have hoped for…A big thanks to all of you that made 2011 such an amazing year.
Shapeways | blog: A Portal into the Future: 2011 in Review, and What’s to Come
The spanner. It is the works. Like really f*cking in there.
So the Wolverine print finally arrived and it came out awesomely…..very happy with it…
I’ve decided to offer it for sale, not really expecting to sell any, but hey, someone might want one…
Well, here comes my little ‘review’, as promised.
You can order the ring in different materials. The cheapest one being stainless steel, and the most expensive one being silver glossy. I went with the regular silver option.
I know what the ring looks like that people got along with their collector’s edition, and I gotta say that while that one looks nice, I prefer this one. The inscription looks a bit better, in my opinion. It goes a bit deeper and is not engraved as close to the surface as the collector’s ring. Plus, I think that this one will hold longer than the one in the collector’s edition. What’s that one made of, anybody know?
One thing that I personally don’t like though…I wish it didn’t look so, I don’t know, new? I mean, the surface is not 100% ‘shiny’ as you can see on the photos I think, but I’d like it if it’d look a tad bit more weathered and used, like the one in the game. But then again, you can’t have everything. If you want the ring to look a bit more used I’d go with the stainless steel option. I don’t know what that one looks like irl, up and close, but judging from the photos it has a bit more of a weathered feel to it.
TL;DR? For a non-official replica I’d say this is worth all the money I’ve decided to spend on it (about €70 in total, with leather cord, I think). And I honestly think this one is more true to the one in the game than the official ring. Just my personal optinion though.

.::Final version of the ring is now available.::..
A picture of the new ‘Januarie’ inscription is now uploaded, it’s the new default picture.
It has been updated to have fully correct inscriptions on the inside of the ring and this is the final update that will be made to the ring.
It has 3 inscriptions:
- SIC PARVIS MAGNA: meaning “Greatness from small beginnings”
- 29 Januarie 1596: the day after Sir Francis supposedly died
- 9.32.79: The coordinates of his coffin
Ring comes in one size only and is designed to be worn around your neck (or on your finger if it fits, it’s a US size 10)
Check the picture in the gallery above for a look at the ‘Januarie’ inscription. Once the test prints arrive I’ll have proper photos of the new inscription.
